Villa balbianello, Lake Como

​It is not only the unique beauty of Lake Como, it is not only the sunny day that makes all the colors more vivid, it is not only the story of which it is rich and not even the appearance in some famous films as an exclusive location, the reality is that Villa Balbianello , heritage of the FAI, Italian Environment Fund, is a really lovely place.

​Built at the end of 1700 at the behest of Cardinal Durini, Guido Monzino, surely its most famous owner and the last in time order, was a man of a thousand interests, lover of travel (celebrating his arrival at the North Pole, the original sleigh of the expedition is kept intact in a room of the Villa) and collector (some exclusive Chinese, African and pre-Columbian art collections are kept in some cases).

​Needless to say, the view, both from the balconies and from the windows of the building, is truly breathtaking; noteworthy the elegant three-arched loggia that rises above the highest point of the headland, you will not forget it easily.
