On the wine route in South Tyrol there is one of the most awarded wine cellars in Italy, which offers wines with intense aromas such as Gewurtztraminer (Selida) and Muller Thurgau, welcomed in a fascinating modern structure, constantly pervaded by light and that ideally, for its shape, embraces the vineyards all around. Cantina Tramin has been a cooperative since 1898: with a total of 300 producers and 260 hectares of vineyards (all followed by a single oenologist) it has a peasant/hectare proportion similar to that of a small estate.
A total of 35 wines are produced and the harvest (totally manual) lasts about 8 weeks. The only exception is the Gewurtztraminer Vendemmia Tardiva, a nectar produced from grapes harvested in November when the first snow often begins to appear among the rows. Curiosity: the 5 lines drawn on the label symbolize the 5 senses, because wine tasting is an experience that involves us in a complete way from a sensory and emotional point of view.
