In Santo Stefano di Sessanio since the late 90s, the Italian-Swedish entrepreneur Daniele Kihlgren has begun a work of conservative recovery of the village, of the structures and furniture and of the local traditions to build the widespread hotel Sextantio which maintains the exact identity of the place that is thus protected.
The interiors of the rooms are inspired by the photos that Paul Scheuermeier, a Swiss linguist, took in Abruzzo in 1920 and, to avoid the use of contemporary material, the use of native objects often stored in museums was used; the result is a dive into the past, as if time had frozen a place that can relive its new history, of which each of us can become the protagonist. Suggestive and exciting, it is how I would describe my days at the @sextantio in Santo Stefano di Sessanio.
