Like a princess in her kingdom. So I felt during my visit to The Castle of Masino, one of the many jewels of the FAI, Italian Environment Fund, an 11th century fortress overlooking a vast plain in Caravino, about 60 km from Turin. The whole building is covered with amazing frescoes and you can visit several rooms and private rooms at a cost of 11 euros (admission is free for FAI members); wonderful is the large lush garden that also houses Italy's second largest botanical labyrinth. Very elegant and well-preserved interiors and exteriors, you will have the opportunity to eat something or just have a coffee on a terrace with magnificent views of the surrounding landscape. You can also visit the Carriage Museum in the 18th-century stables and the castle cellars with a tour of the local vineyard and tasting.
Go and discover this Piedmont wonder! Near the Castle there is a restaurant I loved, the Gardenia Restaurant where I recommend you to book a table for a lunch or dinner after the visit to the Castle.
