If you find yourself taking a tour of the wonderful Assisi, my advice is to reserve a table at the Buca di san Francesco (it is very well known and appreciated so you risk not finding a place if you show up without reservation! Ask for a table in the first room or outside): very scenic rustic environment with stone walls, very quick service, typical regional cuisine prepared and presented in a simple but tasty way! And a really competitive price for the quality offered and the location. I recommend Bruschetta fantasy as appetizer and among the first plates try the Umbrian Imbrecciata which is a soup of typical regional legumes and cereals (the dish of Buon Ricordo! You can also collect your favorite dishes in some Italian trattorias that join the initiative!). In the seconds the Grilled Sausage from Umbira is really tasteful; I paired the sweet and sour onions with Balsamic vinegar, excellent to refresh La Buca di san Francesco if you pass by Assisi!
