Right in his Ragusa, Chef Ciccio Sultano has opened a place that deserves a stop from breakfast to aperitif, from the granita break to dinner or even (and above all) to buy bread: in fact the Banchi in Ragusa are first of all a bakery that uses antique and selected flours that churns out high quality bread, the same that you will find on the tables of the renowned Restaurant Duomo. For breakfast a selection of coffee and tea and varieties of Sicilian yeasts and sweets. I stopped for both an afternoon break and for the aperitif: delicious and tasteful pistachio granita with cream, wow for the Sicilian cassata! Before dinner I recommend a stop for a cocktail and a yummy chopping board of local charcuterie and cheeses (exquisite the slightly spicy Ragusano DOP).
The cocktails tasted: The Cocktail Banks: Hendrick's Gin, Citrus Mix, ginger spiced beer, Bubbles. Mishima: Vitovska Cotar, Vermouth Mulassano White, carrot extract, Sake Yuzu Yoigokochi, Maroccan Bitter, Tonic Water Fever tree.
