Visiting Montefalco I highly recommend a visit to the cellar with tasting from the Pardi Brothers.
Although I was unable to book the visit to the cellar, Alberto Pardi, with great kindness and availability, made me taste the types of wines they produce, explaining to me differences and work philosophies. A marvelous wine their Sacrantino (with the C) awarded for the 3rd year in a row with the 3 glasses in the Guide Wines of Italy of the Gambero Rosso, 100% Sagrantino grapes, a wine of character, intense, tannin of quality that can go with tasty and rich second dishes like meat, wild game or mature cheeses. Noteworthy (I couldn't help but buy it!) the Montefalco Sagrantino Passito, 100% Sagrantino, what a wonderful nectar! It smells of cherry and eucalyptus and is so sweet and tannic that it is a pleasure to taste it, not only with sweets or cheeses but also alone as a meditation wine.
