At the Planeta Foresteria Restaurant, the Chef Angelo Pumilia expertly researches and enhances the high-quality local raw materials to present in his dishes all the eye-catching flavors of this beautiful island, surely a pleasant discovery. In particular I found excellent some 'strong dishes' of the restaurant. 'The Knight's Egg': egg with mashed potatoes with extra virgin olive oil Planeta, capers. Wonderful taste. 'Spaghetti with absolute red shrimp': spaghetti with pink shrimp tartare, red shrimp and citrus chutney. Simply unforgettable. Ricotta and mint ravioli : rich puff pastry filled with delicate Ricotta of Memphis sheep and girdino mint, Kamarino tomato sauce. 'Lamb with mint': boneless lamb, lentil puree, yogurt sauce, mint and peas. ‘Molecola?: exquisite dessert, apples from Etna, honey ice cream and rosemary oil.
As the wine pairing I decided to taste some wines. Planeta Menfi DOC Chardonnay 2017. Planeta, the Didacus of 2014, always a Chardonnay, very fine, intense in the scents, I loved in combination with the plate of spaghetti with the red shrimp. Planeta Alastro 2007, mature, beautiful structure, finesse, tropical fruit.
