When you visit Ortigia (because it is absolutely worth a visit) plan to stop for an ‘aperitivo’ or to eat a dish at Cortile Verga, a really delicious cocktail bar! A charming courtyard with marble tables, very attentive and kind staff (we spilled a freshly served cocktail in a clumsy way and they brought us another without adding it to the final bill), quick service and really nice cocktails to see pleasantly retro in the aesthetic. Among the cocktails I enjoyed Radical Chic (Vermouth, Wisky, Rhubarb, Cherry and Orange bitter) and Pliny's Kinara (Gin, Cherry Bitter, Rabarbaro, Falernum, Lemon). Delicious and convenient also the chopping board with tastings of local charcuterie and cheeses.
Needless to say, the atmosphere when the light goes down is nothing short of enchanting.
