Coria Restaurant, Caltagirone

​Caltagirone, a UNESCO World Heritage city with an unforgettable atmosphere.
The famous staircase is a spot where you can admire a truly evocative sunset.
Going down the stairs, only a few steps separate you from a Michelin-starred restaurant, the Coria Restaurant.
The name is a tribute to Colonel Giuseppe Coria, author of the book 'Perfumes of Sicily', a eulogy to the gastronomic culture of this wonderful island.
A concrete and intense cuisine of land and sea, in the kitchen two young Chefs trained at the school of Ciccio Sultano, traditional dishes reproduced in a contemporary key.

​A well-groomed, modern environment, with lighting that highlights the dish then the whole gastronomic experience.
 
After a few welcome tastings, a really inviting little appetizer second is presented on a dish with golden reflections: red onion sauce, peas, cottage cheese and alice, a very tasty start.

As starters two choices.
'Undergrowth', roots and seasonal tubers and green zucchini.
'Mixed Grill, Squid and Roasted Octopus' with reduction of red shrimp and leonforte broad beet.

​Among the first tasted two dishes, both really well made with yummy raw materials.
‘Spaghetto alle vongole’ (spaghetti with clan) cicadas, hedgehog pulp and candied lemon, a concentration of sea and flavor.
'Craft Fusillone, Butter and Anchovies' with toasted pine nuts sauce, very tasty dish!
